Our History

Holy Cross Regional High School was the vision of Father Foran. He was passionate about providing a regional Catholic high school for students from the Fraser Valley and in September of 1982, because the new school building had not yet been completed, Holy Cross began classes at the former St. Angela’s Academy in Delta, BC. The founding principal was Mr. Robert DeJulius, (who retired in 2010) and the founding Vice-Principal, was Mr. Stanley Kazun, (who recently retired in 2020). By September of 1983, construction was completed on a new building and Holy Cross Regional High School moved to North Surrey.

Where we are today…

Today, enrolment is over 800 students, and this allows for a close-knit community.  Factually, Holy Cross has grown to be the largest Catholic Independent Regional High School in all of British Columbia to date. Academically, over 70% of Holy Cross students are on the honour roll and have consistently earned scholarships to various post secondary institutions. We also have a Learning Assistance Department which provides assistance to students with varying degrees of Learning Disabilities and an ESL Department that provides support for International students. Our Counselling Department is available five days a week to provide emotional support for our students.

Athletically, Holy Cross sports teams and clubs have won many Provincial and Fraser Valley Championships. Our Performing Arts Department consists of our award winning Music Department (Choirs and Bands) and the Drama Department. Holy Cross Choirs and Bands have done very well competitively and our annual drama production is held at the Surrey Arts Centre. Holy Cross strongly encourages students to join the numerous teams, ensembles, and clubs which are available, in order to make valuable friendships and make their high school years memorable and meaningful.
